Summer 2009

This summer I have had quite a few things to do, like find a job. Well I worked for Camp McFadden for 4 weeks, I am also painting Heathers house here in Ponca and helping my mom organize the house, and well just having a good time in general. Also the arrival of my new nephew Wyatt Allen. which was so extremely exciting and so adorably cute. Here are a few pictures of my summer! Hope you enjoy! :)

Update! Oh and Sugar!

Lately not a whole lot has been going on i guess. just the same old.. except working out everyday since i have been back to Utah! i believe i have finally gained the muscle and i am starting to drop the pounds! This also includes watching everything that goes into my mouth. Angie has been helping me alot by motivating me and giving me little hints. like write things down when in goes in your mouth just so you are concious of what you eat! It's helped like crazy! somedays are really hard to keep track being in a kitchen and all but it's great as of today i have lost 8 pounds! go me! everytime i see the number go down, it makes me want to go to the gym even more!

In Class we started working with pulled sugar, though we only get to do it for one day because the sugar used is very expensive. we learn how to make it cool it and pull it and we made a rose and some flowers i don't know the name and some braches for a base. let me tell you! it was awesome!!

Anchors Away!

This past week has been amazing on the experience level for catering! On tuesday we had a h'orederve Banquet for 2300 for a business called Nu Skin. the very next day we had a dinner banquet for 1200. Along with h'orderves. let me tell ya! it was a crazy week.
The next few days we spent our time doing ice carvings! It's a total blast just taking a chain saw to a huge 300 pounds of ice!

So Far In November

Lately not a whole lot has been going on, just going to school, working at Gregg's kitchen, and going to grandma's for Sunday dinner. I leave on monday to go home for Thanksgiving Break! Oh how i miss Oklahoma! Some fun things going on that are exciting to me and may not be to you, but I am growing my hair out again and it's finally getting long!! well long for me! (: I also colored my hair red and brown, i actually like it alot!

In school I am learning alot about carving fruit, time managment, and work is basically school for me, the kitchen is run by Chef Troy who's class I will be in next semester! I am learning so much there! How to run the line, and as dishwasher, where everything goes in the kitchen! haha that's basically all! i'll return with pictures from Thanksgiving Break! love you all! (This platter me and my friend Jinkuk did in class today! I am very proud of it!)

Halloween

For Halloween this year, i didn't really dress up, but at the same time i did. My entire class.. though there are only 10 of us, we dressed up as the Chef we are working with right now, Chef Franz Kubak. He is just like a grandpa/teddy bear. we all wore Chef hats and drew a mustache and wore fun socks and a different type of neckerchief. It was so much fun and he laughed for a while. That was alot of fun!

I also have not posted any pictures of my apartment! I took some this morning, there is my bed room, my bathroom, my vanity, common room, dining room, and kitchen and entrance to my room and 2 others.

9 Day Vacation

In the past about two weeks i have had a 9 day vacation from work. Let me tell you, it was absolutly amazing! During this time i went to Dwight's Dad's Fire Fighter retierment party, Heather, Travis, Angie and Peter all came to visit, along with David and Donna Cummings and all their children, ALL on the same night! It was really alot of fun! Some of the event's we did through the week were having the harrison's and Foys over for a celebration dinner of the Fourth. We also went canoeing, and went to Sun'n'Fun to Celebrate Kaity's Birthday. The Kids loved it! and it was so much fun to have almost all the family in town, and of course we really really missed Nathan! We all wish he could have been here!

I cannot believe the summer is coming so close to an end! It is so exciting and so sad all at the same time!

I also got to decorate Kaity's Birthday cake! and she loves cinderella!

Fathers Day

So lately I have just been working, like normal.. nothing real big happening around here, but the storms are beautiful, these pictures are on my way to work so a sunrise, and it was awesome, i wish i would have gotten a pic of the other side, it was a thunderstorm with a huge rainbow in the middle! it was amazing, with the sunrise in my rearview mirror and the awesome storm. One reason i love this place!

On Father's Day I made this picture thing for my dad, it is some pictures of Grandma and Grandpa Barker( my grandparents of course, his parents) and me and the kids all gave it to him for father's day. it says hapy father's day, and has a scripture Jeremiah 3:4(if not 3:4 then it's 4:3, sorry my memory isn't that good) anyway he enjoyed it, and hung it up on tuesday night in his office(on the nasty pink wall i might add)

Other then that, all is well, and i love and miss you all in Utah!
